What's up at school?

Sixth Grade

In sixth grade English, the students have been discussing subjects and predicates.  They discussed the Bible verse for Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and made posters with paragraphs describing how the verse applied to the students.  They have also been working on journaling.  Mrs. Hatch provides the journal entries and the students get to choose the entries about which they wish to write. In science, the students are learning about spiders, insects and bats.  In math, they are solving algebraic equations. In social studies, the sixth graders are studying about the people of Border Cave and Catal Huyuk.  They were people who were hunters and gatherers and then learned to domesticate plants and animals.  The students did some simulations to help them to feel how life was like 10,000 years ago. In religion, they are learning about the truths in our faith about creation, such as “Everything God created is good.”  They learn these truths through investigative learning activities.
