Ms. Hetterick has started a vocal ensemble to sing at the Christmas concert and on Christmas Eve Mass at 4.  We practice from 3:30-5.  I am running the rehearsals by myself.  A couple weeks before the concert date Jan will come to accompany us.
 

     I am writing the rehearsal schedule for the 6^th grade play, Peter Pan, which will be performed on Fine Arts Weekend.

The 5^th grade are learning about keyboard skills.  In December they will learn some Christmas melodies on the keyboards.

The 6^th grade are now learning about Renaissance music.  The recorders have

arrived and we will begin working with them this week or next week.  In December I will teach them some simple Christmas melodies.
 

     The 7^th grade has their concert on Friday, November 11.  I will be contacting someone at Carmel Manor on Monday to find out possible times and dates we could perform the show for them.  After November 11^th , we will be learning about the Classical and Romantic periods. The students will be playing themes to famous pieces on the orth instruments.

                 
The 8^th grade is learning about Stravinksy.  I will be introducing the students to rag time.  The students will be playing melodies to famous rags on the tone chimes. In December the students will sing Christmas songs and learn bell parts to “O Come Emmanuel”.
