SAINT JOSEPH PARISH TUITION ASSISTANCE 2010 - 2011 School Year Printable Version of PSAS Form
TUITION AID SERVICE St. Joseph Parish uses Private School Aid Service as a third party, to assess the level of need/ability to pay for families seeking tuition assistance. PSAS is one of the largest, most respected companies providing financial aid analysis and verification process for schools and scholarship programs. Many schools in the Diocese of Covington use PSAS. For more information about PSAS, go to www.psas.org.
WHY USE PSAS? Ø It is ANONYMOUS. Whether families pick up an application from the school office or download an application from the school web site, personal financial information remains anonymous.
Ø It uses PROFESSIONAL ANALYSIS to help determine family need/ability to pay.
Ø It provides an OBJECTIVE CRITERIA to assess each application.
Ø It applies UNIFORM measures of aid to determine need, in fairness to all parishioners.

Form. Applications cannot be directly downloaded from the
PSAS website. You can fill in the appropriate fields, print the
completed document and save it for your records. (requires Acrobat
7 or higher.) Completed applications should be sent to
Private School Aid Service
Ø All applications should be sent, along with required documentation and a $21fee to PSAS, before May 28, 2010, as noted on the front page of the application. If the family is also applying for assistance at a high school using PSAS, only one application and one fee is needed for both schools. Each school’s code must be given in the application and each school may have a different deadline.
Ø Two – three weeks after the completed application is received by PSAS Fr. Reinersman will receive a report from PSAS assessing the family’s level of need/ability to pay. That assessment determines the amount of assistance the parish will provide.
Ø Fr. Reinersman will send a letter informing each family of its tuition rate for the coming year. If the family believes the aid is insufficient they can meet with Fr. Reinersman personally. Final decisions in this regard are granted to the Pastor.
Ø The financial information a family sends to PSAS will not be accessed unless the family gives written permission to do so.
