As a parish school, we have a primary responsibility to
provide the children of our parish community the opportunity to attend Saint
Joseph School. We are also sensitive to
the desires of other families who wish to attend our school. |
|
|
To that end, we have established the following priority
guidelines for enrollment at St. Joseph School. |
|
| 1. | It is required that no kindergarten classroom shall exceed 25 students. |
| 2. | No child will be admitted to school without proper certification of immunization. |
| 3. | The student registration date deadline for St. Joseph School is
March 1st of the same year that the student is to
be enrolled. Any students currently enrolled in the school will be accepted the following year, provided
they register by March 1st for the following
school year. This applies to all students, including kindergarten.
Any registration received after March 1st will be considered late and will be subject to Section 4 of the Enrollment Policy. Open registration will be from March 2nd – July 1st. Any registration received after July 1st, will be subject to Section 5 of the Enrollment Policy. |
| 4. | If it is determined that St. Joseph School has no other choice but to limit
enrollment, the Selection Process for non-enrolled students is to be followed.
|
| 5. | If there is capacity after July 1st for students enrolled after the registration deadline, application and acceptance will be on a “first come, first serve” basis. |
| 6. | St. Joseph Kindergarten registration fee of $50 per student. This must be included with the registration application. A FAMILY MUST BE CURRENT IN ITS FINANCIAL OBLIGATION TO ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL (grades 1 – 8) BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REGISTER A CHILD FOR KINDERGARTEN. If the registration fee is not included with the application, or a family’s financial obligations for grades 1 – 8 are not up to date, the registration application will be considered late. The registration fee is not refundable. |
| 7. | The registration fee can be refunded if the number of applications exceeds the maximum number of positions available. If there is not an available space for a registrant by September 1st, the fee will be refunded. If, however, a position is offered and refused, the fee will not be refunded. |
| 8. | A family with a child in St Joseph Kindergarten may not have a reduced tuition for grades 1 – 8. |
| 9. | If a family has not completed its tuition commitment for grades 1 – 8 by July 1st, registration for the incoming kindergarten student will be canceled. |
| 10. | The Selection Process outlined previously will also be in effect, if needed, to assign students to A.M. versus P.M. kindergarten. |
| 11. | A committee of the pastor, the school principal and appointed member of the Board of Total Catholic Education at St. Joseph Parish will interpret and/or arbitrate any discussions or disputes concerning this policy. |
| 12. | Any appeal regarding the decision on admission must be made in writing to the pastor. |
